Meet BURT.  He is Barking Up the Right Tree’s mascot.  BURT brings his owner the newspaper from the front step every morning.  He does this happily as he has been trained using positive reinforcement training.  BURT does lots of other tricks, and always comes when he’s called.  Would you like your dog to be more like BURT?

Why People training for dogs?  Well, it has to do with the way your dog’s brain works.  Dogs don’t take what they learn and generalize it well to other situations or people.  So if I train your dog, he will listen to me, but if you want your dog to listen to you, you should be the one who trains him.
